Storm Shelters For Sale
Storm Shelters Tulsa is proud to be a supplier and installer of the Tornadosafe brand Storm Shelters.
Our shelters have a hardened structure specifically designed to meet the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) criteria. These shelters provide near-absolute protection in extreme weather events, including tornadoes and hurricanes. Now what does 'near-absolute' mean anyway? 'Near-absolute' protection means that, based on our current knowledge of tornadoes and hurricanes, the occupants of a safe room built in accordance with FEMA guidance will have a very high probability of being protected from injury or death. That's the exact meaning direct from FEMA. To even be considered a FEMA safe room, the structure must be designed and constructed to the guidelines specified in FEMA P-320, which we are at Storm Shelters Tulsa!
Each shelter is constructed to exceed FEMA’s 320/361 design and construction guidance for residential.
ALL our shelters are tested at Texas Tech Wind Science and Engineering Research Center F5 tornado debris test before installation.
The process we use for anchoring of Shelter is very important as the structural design. We use a customized anchor system that is engineered to match the exact thickness of the slab.
We install anchors every 12″ along the inside walls of our shelters. This means a higher structural integrity for your shelter.
Our doors come constructed with three barrel hinges w/grease fittings. The vault doors are over 300 lb. and reinforced with 4″ Structural “C” Channel. Each door is equipped with a Medeco deadbolt, built to withstand high force winds.
In addition to our standard models, we have shelters that are fully Handicap Accessible. We are able to build the shelters in such a way that the shelter is both comfortable and quick to access in the event of emergency.
